The roman empire stretched from the Scottish Borders, across the width of North Africa, all the way the the borders of Iran in the Middle East. On one level the point was to make everywhere and everyone Roman because citizens got to pay taxes. For this reason and because it lead to greater regional stability, there were ways for even the lowest of slaves to become Roman citizens. If you got all the way to adulthood still thinking that every Roman citizen was white, "because statues", then that nonsense is on you.

People where totally obsessed with categories of skin colour and ethnicity hundreds of years ago. Fortunately people who lived in 1800's were obsessed with writing things down so we can all just ignore the Activism and read the source materials for ourselves. The auto biography of Mary Secole is full of examples of a black woman talking about class distinctions based upon the colour and ethnicity of black and mixed race people.

Another thought: All these comments are great and part of the movement to resist and defeat racism. Yet, we need as much of everyone as possible to think globally, focus nationally, and act locally on defeating racism and on other important issues as well.

This video and those like it are so important. They help us identify and resist the negative memes and archetypes of different peoples and races we hold consciously and subconsciouusly that populate and fuel our imaginations and dominate our actions which subtly and not so subtly lead to white privilege and worse, white supremacy.

I'm going to say something now that will probably upset people... I don't believe focusing on a specific race, is the answer. The goal here, is for a persons race to become irrelevant. To view each other as American's period. Not divide everyone into football teams. Trying to combat racisms by say, "putting policing in the hands of the African American community" or allotting any aspect of society to a specific ethnicity, just succeeds in creating animosity among other Demographic groups, perpetuating the cycle... We need to break the cycle. I know many will be saying, " well, its been in the hands of white people for centuries".. true. But, I would say, well, look where that has gotten us. That's what we are trying to get away from... no? .... And que, the verbal abuse.

The only entertainer that received the greatest honor of a national funeral in France (when they wrap the coffin in the flag) was Josephine Baker. She was a national hero that worked with the resistance and was able to pass documents across the enemy line because the German were so racist, they would not want to touch a black woman. Isn't this a low bar? Isn't it the best idea that we don't make ANY decisions based on someone's.......anything? I am 100% for black and brown lives (I wish mine was), but ultimately isn't that the reality; color/race blindness when living and dying? Next best step: I'm on board! Harris residence, Obama’s residence, downtown, D.C at night, Arlington, VA., & an assortment of other videos that just weren’t there before Biden took office. A real keen interest in what kind of construction is in front of the W.H. & the V.P. Residence, the Blackhawk Helicopters, etc. In broad daylight! Check out their playlists, bc something may be afoot. penguinsix via @IRbin Walk Ride Fly via @IRbin. I don’t like it. I am lucky to have had a lot of inputs into Black History. It happened at a local used bookstore. While I was perusing the shelves I found two shelves of books by black authors going back to Fredrick Douglass. I was reading one when an employee walked over and with obvious distain told me I could have any of those for $.50 cents each. I hauled them all to the front desk and repeated his promise. Loudly. I bought them all. I've read most of them and some of them twice. Nothing in the media can compete with reading books written by the people who lived those lives. I think all American schools ought to have Web DuBois, Fred Douglass, Eldrige Cleaver and etc. as mandatory reading.

33:10 yes, reparations would be easy as pie. when this sham of a democracy/economy that is america, dies, and we have some form of direct democracy × mmt/ubi/economic blockchain, we can simply allocate money to every appropriate account. (we could also restore every stolen pension/retirement, revert patents back to original discoverers/creators (who usually sold them to capitalists for a pittance (in the way back machine)). we could also eliminate taxes, and the need for "charities". existence could be very much different. but we all have to choose it. we can start with 50 trillion as a baseline for what is owed (everybody):

Unfortunately there's a similar situation in Australia with regards to racism and denial of the brutal acts committed against Indigenous Australians by white settlers - and of course the ongoing lack of equality; institutionalised racism; over representation in incarceration rates, and the struggle for Indigenous people to retain their culture, heritage and languages.

Romans 12:19 “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” Isaiah 63:4 “For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.” Vengeance Is Mine and It's Coming Jeremiah 16:18-21 18 And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things. 19 O Lord, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. 20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods? 21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The Lord. Revelation 18:6-10 King James Version 6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. 7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. 8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. 9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, 10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. Ezekiel 35:5-6 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end: 6 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee. Isaiah 55:10-11 King James Version 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Psalms 75:8 “For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.” Psalm 2:1-4 King James Version 2 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Revelation 11:18 “And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.” Hebrews 12:17 “For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.” Revelation 6:10 “And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?” Deuteronomy 32:9 “For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.” Hosea 3:4 “For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:” Read Jeremiah 49 Repent 💞 Leviticus 26:40 If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me; Selah (Selah is defined as a Hebrew word that has been found at the ending of verses in Psalms and has been interpreted as an instruction calling for a break in the singing of the Psalm or it may mean "forever." ... A good winter read is Beloved by Toni Morrison. It confers upon the reader the feeling, as close to a standing under understanding any outsider can get, of slavery, thru the expression of her theme of rememory. It may be what tipped the balance to gain her the Nobel Prize in literature. The movie can't convey what the book does, or at least didn't. Since Hollywood keeps US from learning what is possible thru film.
